The last KAUTC meeting was held May 14th, 2008 at the National Guard Armory in Lenexa, Kansas.  Nathan Bergman, Bartlett & West, was elected to the position of Treasurer.  Mike McKenna handed over the gavel to Tim Weeks for the next year.

The following topics and speakers made up the program;

  • Hawk System, Dr. Russell, Kansas State University
     
  • Rural School Zones, Brian Gower, KDOT
     
  • Work Management/Complaint Tracking, Software & Inventory, Jay Meador, City of Overland Park.
     
  • Proposed Updates to the MUTCD, Linda Voss, City of Topeka

It was announced that the schedule for meetings for 2008-09 will be published on the website late this summer.

Approximately 40 people attended the meeting.

 

     
   

   
KAUTC holds three meetings a year typically on the first Wednesday of February, June and October. Meetings cover practical issues such as pavement markings, traffic signals, traffic control and signing. They provide a forum for sharing information on the latest traffic control technology and standards.  
 
 
Membership is available to any person active in some phase of traffic engineering in Kansas. An application can be obtained online or by attending one of the meetings. The application must be filled out and submitted to the Board of Directors for approval.
